How does work affect Social Security and SSI disability beneficiaries

Learn how the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program pays benefits to disabled adults and children who have limited income and resources. Check with a local Social Security office if you believe you may be eligible for benefits.

Hosted by Andrew Hardwick - Public Affairs Specialist

I am the Area III Dallas Region, Metropolitan Public Affairs Specialist for the Social Security Administration in the greater Houston area. I conduct pre-retirement workshops for employees and do disability seminars for hospitals, school districts, nursing students, university advisors, social workers and others educating them about Social Security and Medicare benefits and introducing them to SSA's online tools.

I have also worked at headquarters in Baltimore translating materials into Spanish for SSA's online Spanish page. I am bilingual so all my seminars can be conducted in either Spanish or English.

I am also currently serving as the vice president of the Texas Hispanic Council on Aging an organization which seeks to assist seniors of all races and ethnicities.
